Field trips to the Outdoor Adventure Center combine Michigan's outdoor resources and hands-on learning for all ages in a climate-controlled, historic building.

School year field trips
The perfect combination of education and fun for all ages, from preschool through high school! Add on a classroom program for an even more enriching experience.
Summer field trips
A self-guided visit to our climate-controlled, historic building, with time to explore hands-on exhibits, see live animals and more, plus an option to add an outdoor activity.
Programs for seniors
Active Aging Adventures
Check out the Outdoor Adventure Center's program series for seniors:
- Brunch & Learn – meet our educators, listen to guest presenters and take part in various natural resource-themed activities.
- Senior Strolls – join a naturalist for a casual stroll at various state parks and historic sites, focusing on a topic related to natural or cultural history, every other month.
Programs for small groups
Group Adventures
These adventures are designed for small groups of fewer than 30 people.
They include admission to the OAC for all participants and one instructor-led program. Choose from archery, fishing, a nature walk or a classroom session – either Story of the Sturgeon or Vampires of the Great Lakes.
