Young State Park

Young state park shoreline

Young State Park

Young State Park is situated on the eastern shore of beautiful Lake Charlevoix, just outside Boyne City. The park spans 563 acres and is a mix of gently rolling terrain, lowlands and cedar swamp. There are three modern campgrounds, overnight lodging facilities, a boat, a boating access site, a popular swimming beach, a picnic area, 6.5 miles of trails and more.

The park was established in 1921, and the day-use building was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

From the park, visitors can access the Boyne City to Charlevoix Trail. The soon-to-be-completed, nonmotorized 14-mile trail links the city of Charlevoix with the cities of Petoskey and Harbor Springs.

The nearby towns of Charlevoix, Boyne City and East Jordan offer small town charm, especially in the summer months.
