Stoney Creek Trail Camp
This rustic equestrian campground, located in a scenic hardwood forest, offers direct access to the Shore-to-Shore Trail. Nine trailer sites (small and large) and a group area (max 100 people) are available. A 3500-watt generator-powered water pump provides potable water.
This 420-mile trail Shore-to-Shore Trail system, spanning from Empire to Oscoda, welcomes hikers and equestrians alike, offering breathtaking scenery along its east-west route. Two additional spur trails extend north and south, further expanding exploration opportunities.
For those seeking a more localized equestrian adventure, the Stoney Creek Equestrian Trail provides three scenic loops.
The campground is located 12 miles east of Indian River via M-68, M-33 N and Stoney Creek Road.

This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling.

What to expect, finding a site
These rustic campgrounds offer stunning river and lakefront settings, perfect for fishing, boating, and paddling. Here's what you can expect:
- No reservations. Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- There are vault toilets.
- Potable (drinking) water is available from a hand-pump well.
- No electrical available.
- Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk at each campground.
- Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay.
- One camping unit and six people are allowed per site.
