WHEREAS, the Make-A-Wish organization was founded in 1980 with the goal of making the dreams of critically ill children come true; and,
WHEREAS, the inspiring work of Make-A-Wish changes the lives of children with critical illnesses and the lives of their families, and gives them an essential boost of courage; and,
WHEREAS, the Make-A-Wish foundation has granted over 520,000 wishes for children with critical illnesses worldwide since 1980; and,
WHEREAS, every year on April 29, the Make-A-Wish foundation celebrates World Wish Day to commemorate their decades of life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim April 29, 2022 as World Wish Day in Michigan.
