LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Damian Kassab to the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
“Damian’s thorough understanding of finance and the law, as well as business operations, will make him a valuable member of the Michigan Gaming Control Board which is ultimately responsible for preserving the integrity of gaming in Michigan,” Granholm said. “I am confident he will apply his expertise to ensure the conduct of fair and honest gaming in Michigan.”
Kassab, of Rochester, has served as chairman of Warren Bank since 1997. Previously, Kassab formed a boutique investment bank, Seger Financial, Inc., where he served many capacities, including president, general counsel and treasurer.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Kassab received his law degree from the University of Colorado. Kassab is expected to earn a degree this month from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
Kassab succeeds Larry Garberding who has resigned. His term will expire December 31, 2004.
His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
