LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announces the following recent appointments:
Board of Boiler Rules
Jeffrey Appel of Huntington Woods, attorney in Southfield, appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2007. He succeeds Lawrence Hale, II whose term has expired and is being reappointed in a different capacity.
Lawrence Hale, II of Detroit, president and CEO of Hale Contracting, Inc., appointed to represent mechanical contractors with experience in the installation, piping, or operation of boilers for a term expiring June 30, 2007. He succeeds Donald Tischler whose term has expired.
John Marek of Dearborn Heights, business manager at the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 169, reappointed to represent organized labor in the state engaged in the erection, fabrication, installation, operation, or repair of boilers for a term expiring June 30, 2007.
State Plumbing Board
Richard Gaber, Jr. of White Lake, business representative for Plumbers Local 98 in Madison Heights, reappointed to represent licensed journey plumbers with 10 years of experience for a term expiring June 30, 2006.
Self-Insurers’ Security Fund, Second Injury Fund, Silicosis, Dust Disease, and Logging Industry Compensation Fund Board of Trustees
Mary Child of Grand Rapids, senior consultant of workers’ compensation and disability matters with Varnum Consulting, LLC, reappointed to represent employers who are authorized to act as self-insurers for a term expiring April 30, 2008.
All of the above appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors
David Adams of Farmington Hills, president and CEO of Michigan Credit Union League/CUcorp in Plymouth, appointed for a term expiring October 8, 2006. He succeeds Peter Wege who has resigned.
This appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
