Governor Granholm Appoints Three to Library of Michigan Board of Trustees

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees:
Linda J. Farynk of Midland, director of the Melvin J. Zahnow Library at Saginaw Valley State University. Ms. Farynk is appointed to represent the Michigan Library Association for a term expiring October 1, 2007. She succeeds Elaine Didier whose term has expired.
Nancy S. Skowronski of Detroit, director of the Detroit Public Library. Ms. Skowronski is appointed to represent public libraries for a term expiring October 1, 2007. She succeeds Thomas Genson whose term has expired.
Francis “Bus” Spaniola of Corunna, retired governmental consultant, former teacher, and former Michigan State Representative. Mr. Spaniola is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring October 1, 2007. He succeeds Gayle Spearman-Leach whose term has expired.
The Library of Michigan Board of Trustees makes recommendations on the budget, general policies, and services that the library provides. The board also proposes rules that govern the operations of the library.
These appointments are not subject to disapproval.
