Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Michigan Public School Employees Retirement Board

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the recent appointments of the following individuals to the Michigan Public School Employees’ Retirement Board:

Lenore Croudy of Flint, steward of resource and information for Flint Community Schools and chairperson of Mott Community College Board of Trustees.  Ms. Croudy is appointed to represent community college administrators or trustees for a term expiring March 30, 2008.  She succeeds Michael Meyer whose term has expired.

Marc G. Whitefield of Bloomfield Township, partner with Finkel, Whitefield, Selik, Raymond, Ferrara & Feldman, P.C. law firm in Farmington Hills.  Mr. Whitefield is appointed to represent the general public with experience in institutional investments for a term expiring March 30, 2008.  He succeeds Leon Hank whose term has expired.

The Michigan Public School Employees’ Retirement Board provides policy direction for a retirement system and health insurance benefits for public school, community college, and certain university employees.

These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
