Governor Granholm Reappoints Bandemer to the Crime Victims Services Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the reappointment of Martin G. Bandemer to the Crime Victims Services Commission. Bandemer, of Macomb Township, is president of the Detroit Police Officer Association.
Mr. Bandemer is reappointed to represent Independents and peace officers for a term expiring September 27, 2007.
The Crime Victims Services Commission is a bipartisan board responsible for the oversight of monies the state receives in victim assistance competitive grant awards, collecting data, investigating claims, reviewing appeals, providing public awareness, and monitoring, evaluating and coordinating local programs. The commission also has the authority to disburse available federal Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) funds.
This reappointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. The reappointment stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
