LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following reappointments to the Land Bank Fast Track Authority Board of Directors, the Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission, and the Advisory Committee on Sanitarians.
Land Bank Fast Track Authority Board of Directors
Nicole Lamb-Hale of Detroit, attorney and partner with Foley & Lardner L.L.P. Ms. Lamb-Hale is reappointed for a term expiring May 31, 2010.
The State Land Bank Fast Track Authority was established under the recommendations of the Governor’s Land Use Leadership Council. The authority allows properties that have reverted to state ownership due to failure to pay taxes to move through an expedited title clearing process. The board of directors elects the chair and vice-chair of the authority.
This reappointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission
Steven M. Puuri of Dexter, managing director of the Washtenaw County Road Commission. Mr. Puuri is reappointed to represent local units of government for a term expiring May 27, 2009.
The Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission works to identify traffic safety challenges in the state and develops, promotes, and implements strategies to address those challenges.
This reappointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
Advisory Committee on Sanitarians
Janet A. Phelps of Grand Blanc, environmental health coordinator of the Genesee County Health Department. Ms. Phelps is reappointed to represent registered sanitarians for a term expiring March 30, 2009.
The Advisory Committee on Sanitarians makes recommendations to the Department of Community Health relative to the qualifications for registration, establishment of education and training standards, and actions regarding disciplinary proceedings involving sanitarians.
This reappointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
