Granholm Appoints Ladas Hoopes Judge of 60th District Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of attorney Maria Ladas Hoopes as judge of the 60th District Court, which serves Muskegon County.
Ladas Hoopes, of North Muskegon, most recently served as an attorney and partner with Ladas & Hoopes Law Offices. She currently serves as an appointee on the Michigan Women's Commission and is involved with the Next Generation - Muskegon Community Foundation, and the Greater Muskegon Service League.
Ms. Ladas Hoopes earned her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1992 and graduated from Michigan State University.
She replaces The Honorable Fredric A. Grimm, Jr. who has resigned. Her term expires January 1, 2009.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
