Granholm Appoints Giguere Judge of 9th Circuit Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the recent appointment of Gary C. Giguere, Jr. as judge of the 9th Circuit Court, which serves Kalamazoo County.
Prior to his appointment, Giguere, of Portage, practiced law at his firm in Kalamazoo. Mr. Giguere is a Volunteer Center of Greater Kalamazoo board member and a member of the Kalamazoo Criminal Justice Council and the Downtown Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo.
Mr. Giguere earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Flint.
Mr. Giguere is appointed for a term expiring January 1, 2009. He replaces Judge William Schma who has resigned.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval.
