LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointments to the Michigan Long-Term Care Supports and Services Advisory Commission and the Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers:
Michigan Long-Term Care Supports and Services Advisory Commission
Sandra J. Kildee of Lansing, retired president and CEO of the Michigan Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. Ms. Kildee is appointed to represent primary or secondary consumers of long-term care supports and services for a term expiring December 31, 2009. She succeeds Linda Mulligan who has resigned.
Denise B. Rabidoux of Ann Arbor, president and CEO of Evangelical Homes of Michigan. Ms. Rabidoux is appointed to represent direct care staff providing long-term care supports and services for a term expiring December 31, 2008. She succeeds Sandra J. Kilde who has been appointed to represent another group within the commission.
The Michigan Long-Term Care Supports and Services Advisory Commission was established as an advisory body within the Michigan Department of Community Health and serves as a forum on for the discussion of issues relating to the provision of long-term care support and services in Michigan.
These appointments are not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers
Robert J. Baker, M.D. of Kalamazoo, physician and program director of primary care sports medicine for Michigan State University's Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. Dr. Baker is appointed to represent physicians licensed under part 170 or 175 of the Public Health Code for a term expiring December 31, 2008.
Ann L. Berry of Canton, co-owner and chief financial officer of Tri-Rehab, Inc. Ms. Berry is appointed to represent athletic trainers for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
William F. Bupp of DeWitt, human resources specialist for the Lansing School District. Mr. Bupp is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2010.
Dennis R. Corbin of Kalamazoo, assistant athletic director of medical services for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at Western Michigan University. Mr. Corbin is appointed to represent athletic trainers for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
Lawrence G. Nassar, D.O. of Holt, associate professor and team physician for Michigan State University Sports Clinic. Dr. Nassar is appointed to represent physicians licensed under Part 170 or 175 of the Public Health Code for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
Laurie L. Ryan of Battle Creek, director of sports medicine and high school teacher at Forest Hills Public Schools. Ms. Ryan is appointed to represent athletic trainers for a term expiring December 31, 2007.
Rodney A. Sorge of Ann Arbor, head athletic trainer and teacher at Ann Arbor Huron High School. Mr. Sorge is appointed to represent athletic trainers for a term expiring December 31, 2008.
The Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers is responsible for licensing and regulating athletic trainers in Michigan.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
