Governor Granholm Appoints Schrock Judge of 5th District Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Sterling "Pete" Schrock as Judge of the 5th District Court, which serves Berrien County, for a term expiring January 1, 2011. He replaces Judge Lynda Tolen who has resigned.
Schrock, of St. Joseph, most recently served as an attorney with Smit & Kragt, P.C. law firm. Previously, he served as attorney with Straub, Seaman & Allen, P.C. law firm (1988 - 1998), and as assistant prosecutor for Berrien County (1983 - 1988). He is a member of the Lions Club of Fairplain and a soccer coach with the American Youth Soccer Organization Region 574.
Schrock earned his law degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago and his bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
