LANSING - Governor Jennifer Granholm today announced the following recent appointments and reappointments:
Michigan Asparagus Marketing Program Committee
Rodney D. Winkel of Watervliet, owner and president of Grandview Orchards, Inc., is appointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring November 13, 2012. He succeeds Dino Rigoni whose term has expired.
Harold D. Goodell of Dowagiac, owner of Goodell Farms, is reappointed to represent growers from southwest Michigan for a term expiring November 13, 2011.
Eugene M. Kokx, II of Hart, owner of Eugene Kokx Farms, LLC, is reappointed to represent growers from northern-central Michigan for a term expiring November 13, 2012.
Gerald L. Malburg of Hart, owner of Gerald Lee Malburg Farms, is reappointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring November 13, 2011.
Kenneth F. Oomen of Hart, partner and owner of Oomen Brothers, Inc., is reappointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring November 13, 2011.
Thomas J. Oomen of Hart, owner and president of Oomen Farms, Ltd.., is reappointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring November 13, 2011.
Victor L. Shank of Dowagiac, president of Central Produce Sales, Inc., is reappointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring November 13, 2011.
The Michigan Asparagus Marketing Program Committee focuses on the research and promotion of the asparagus market within the state.
These reappointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Bean Commission
Joseph M. Cramer of Frankenmuth, vice president of the edible bean division for Star of the West Milling Company, is appointed to represent processors, shippers, and handlers for a term expiring December 31, 2012. He succeeds Lawrence Sprague whose term has expired.
Dennis P. Engelhard of Unionville, farm manager of Fertile Valley Seed Farm, is reappointed to represent district 3 growers for a term expiring December 31, 2012.
Clifford J. Roggenbuck of Port Hope, owner and operator of Roggenbuck Farms, is reappointed to represent district 5 growers for a term expiring December 31, 2012.
Clinton A. Stoutenburg of Sandusky, member and president of Stoutenburg Farms, is reappointed to represent district 4 growers for a term expiring December 31, 2012.
The Michigan Bean Commission focuses on the research and promotion of the dry edible bean market within the state.
These appointments are subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Onion Marketing Program Committee
Bruce J. Klamer of Byron Center, owner of V&W Farms, Inc., is reappointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring August 16, 2012.
Gregg J. Krikke of Decatur, president of K&V Celery Farms, Inc., is reappointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring August 16, 2012.
The Michigan Onion Marketing Program Committee is responsible for increasing utilization of Michigan onions through market development, promotion and research.
These reappointments are subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Plum Marketing Program Committee
Gary R. Fredrickson of Northport, owner of Fredrickson Farm, is reappointed to represent growers from northern Michigan for a term expiring July 1, 2012.
Nels W. Nyblad of Casnovia , owner of Nels Nyblad Family Farm, is reappointed to represent growers-at-large for a term expiring July 1, 2012.
The Michigan Plum Marketing Program Committee is responsible for supporting and creating greater marketing opportunities for the plum industry through advertising, promotion, and research.
These reappointments are subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
