LANSING - Governor Jennifer Granholm today announced the following recent appointments and reappointments:
Michigan Board of Audiology
Peggy J. Frank of Paris, owner and certified audiologist for Audibel Hearing Center, is appointed to represent audiologists for a term expiring June 30, 2014. She succeeds Diane Zuckschwerdt whose term will expire.
Srinivas B. Mukkamala, M.D. of Flint, physician and owner of Srinivas Mukkamala MD, PLC, is reappointed to represent persons licensed to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery who hold certificates of qualification from the American Board of Otolaryngology for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
The Michigan Board of Audiology was created pursuant to Public Act 97 of 2004. The Department of Community Health, in consultation with the board, is responsible for overseeing the licensure and regulation of audiologists, including establishing specific requirements for licensure.
These appointments are subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Athletic Trainer Board
Christina M. Eyers, Ed.D, ATC of Holt, assistant professor and clinical education coordinator for Central Michigan University, is appointed to represent athletic trainers for a term expiring December 31, 2012. She succeeds Rodney A. Sorge who has resigned.
The Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers is consulted by the Michigan Department of Community Health in the licensing and regulating of athletic trainers in Michigan.
This appointment is subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Board of Chiropractic
Mark F. Stuart of Battle Creek, owner of Stuart Law Offices, PC, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2013. He succeeds Michael Morse whose term has expired.
Kathleen J. Thompson of Portage, retired, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2013. She succeeds Gwendolyn Frenette whose term has expired.
Julann M. Vittone of Lansing, president of Jandy Online, LLC, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2013. She succeeds Lois Michelin whose term has expired.
The Michigan Board of Chiropractic provides for the licensure and examination of persons prior to their entry into the practice of chiropractic and provides penalties for violations that may occur.
These appointments are subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Board of Counseling
Steven D. Hampton of Grand Ledge, therapist in private practice, is reappointed to represent statutorily regulated mental health professionals for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Rev. Meredith Hunt of Sturgis, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Laura L. LeClear of Richland, teacher at Lakeview High School, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Thomas J. Wuori of Kalamazoo, attorney at Halpert, Weston, Wuori & Sawusch, P.C., is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
The Michigan Board of Counseling is responsible for the licensure and examination of professional counselors of the state prior to their entry into the practice of counseling and has the authority to take disciplinary action against licensees who have adversely affected the public's health, safety and welfare.
These reappointments are subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
Joint Task Force for Health Professions in Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery
Louis J. Geller, D.P.M. of Huntington Woods, podiatrist and president of Geller Foot Clinic, is appointed to represent the Michigan Board of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for a term expiring December 31, 2013.
Pamela L. Gnodtke of Charlevoix, retired state employee, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2013.
Christopher J. Noth of Grand Blanc, physician assistant of cardiothoracic surgery at Genesys Regional Medical Center, is appointed to represent physician's assistants for a term expiring December 31, 2013. He succeeds William Fenn whose term has expired.
Steven Acker, D.O. of Ann Arbor, orthopedic surgeon with Midwest Health Center, is reappointed to represent the Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery for a term expiring December 31, 2013.
The Joint Task Force for Health Professions in Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery is responsible for the licensure and examination of persons prior to their entry into practice as a physician's assistant.

Christine S. Daggett of Big Rapids, owner and manager of Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home Inc., is reappointed to represent professionals for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Thomas L. Starks of St. Joseph, president of Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, is reappointed to represent professionals for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
The Board of Examiners in Mortuary Science provides for the licensure and regulation of mortuary science practitioners, sets qualifications and examination requirements, and provides penalties for violation of the act.

Michigan Board of Nursing
Brigid M. McMillan of Grosse Pointe Park, licensed practical nurse with Beaumont Hospital, is appointed to represent licensed practical nurses for a term expiring June 30, 2013. She succeeds Mary MacEachern whose term has expired.
Lars Egede-Nissen of Okemos, executive director of Hospice of Lansing and Ionia Area Hospice, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014. He succeeds Michelle Woods whose term will expire.
Kathleen L. Johnston-Calati of Lansing, government affairs director for Care Source Michigan, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014. She succeeds Bruce Anderson whose term will expire.
Reginald T. Armstrong of Detroit, retired General Motor executive, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
James H. Childress of Grand Rapids, vice president of community relations with Michigan Blood, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
LaDonna A. Schultz of West Branch, Ogemaw County prosecutor, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
The Michigan Board of Nursing is responsible for the interpretation of licensure and examination of registered professional nurses, licensed practical nurses, and for the certification of nursing specialists. The board shall set minimum standards of practice and assess penalties for when those standards are not met and recommend licensure to schools that provide nursing programs.

Todd L. Cook of Lansing, partner at Main Street Strategies, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Sara E.D. Fazio of Grand Rapids, attorney at Stenger & Stenger, P.C., is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Karen J. Messick of Comstock Park, chief operating officer of Pilgrim Manor, Inc. nursing home, is reappointed to represent nursing home administrators for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
The Board of Nursing Home Administrators provides for the licensure of nursing home administrators and provides penalties for violation of the act.

Michigan Board of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery
Robert S. Sher of West Bloomfield, CEO of Robert S. Sher & Associates, Inc. is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014. He succeeds Raymond Mills whose term will expire.
Louis J. Geller of Huntington Woods, podiatrist and president of Geller Foot Clinic, is reappointed to represent podiatrists for a term and expiring June 30, 2014.
Scott E. Hughes, DPM of Monroe, senior podiatrist and president of Foot & Ankle Specialists, PC, is reappointed to represent podiatrists for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Charles M. Morris of Wyandotte, pastor at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and administrator of Patrick's Church, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
The Michigan Board of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery provides for the licensure and examination of podiatrists and podiatric surgeons.

Board of Real Estate Appraisers
Brian S. Kirksey of Rochester Hills, president of KRES, Inc., is appointed to represent certified general real estate appraisers for a term expiring June 30, 2010 and is reappointed for a term expiring June 30, 2014. He succeeds Marshall Brulez who has resigned.
Leo R. Wickert, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, vice president of Isabella Bank, is appointed to represent state licensed real estate appraisers with lending institutions for a term expiring June 30, 2012. He succeeds Craig Hufnagel whose term has expired.
Patricia A. Kelly of Pinckney, Dexter Township supervisor, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
John P. Snyder of Flushing, owner of John "Biff" Snyder & Associates, is reappointed to represent certified general real estate appraisers for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
The Board of Real Estate Appraisers provides for the licensure of state licensed and state certified real estate appraisers and real estate valuation specialists.

Michigan Board of Social Work
Michele A. Brock of East Lansing, continuing education coordinator with the Michigan State University School of Social Work, is appointed to represent certified social workers for a term expiring December 31, 2011. She succeeds Ronald Calery who has resigned.
E. Jane Hayes of Traverse City, associate professor of social work at Grand Valley State University, is appointed to represent individuals engaged primarily in the practice of social work for a term expiring December 31, 2013. She succeeds Allen Cushingberry whose term has expired.
Pamela K. Manela of Novi, social worker for Southfield Lathrup High School, is appointed to represent individuals engaged primarily in the practice of social work for a term expiring December 31, 2010. She succeeds Emily McFadden who has resigned.
Michelle L. Woods of Jackson, personal trainer and fitness instructor, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2013. She succeeds Alan Semonian whose term has expired.
Matthew P. Wojack of Lansing, project director of Impact for Ingham County System of Care, is reappointed to represent individuals engaged primarily in the practice of social work for a term expiring December 31, 2013.
The Michigan Board of Social Work is responsible for the certification and registration of persons engaged in the social work profession.
