Governor Granholm Announces Appointment to Michigan Gaming Control Board

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of the Honorable Kenneth N. Sanborn, a Republican and retired Macomb County Circuit Court judge, to the Michigan Gaming Control Board for a term expiring December 31, 2010. Judge Sanborn is also reappointed for a term expiring December 31, 2014. He succeeds Michael Watza who resigned effective July 27, 2010.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board is responsible for overseeing the licensing and control of casino gaming operations, suppliers of gaming devices, and gaming employees.
This appointment is subject to Section 6 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days
