Granholm Appoints Krause Judge of the Court of Appeals

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Judge Amy Krause to the Michigan Court of Appeals, for a term expiring January 1, 2013. Krause replaces Justice Alton Thomas Davis who was a judge of the Fourth District Court of Appeals prior to his recent appointment to the Michigan Supreme Court.
Krause, of Lansing, most recently served as judge of the 54-A District Court and adjunct faculty member at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Previously, she served as assistant attorney general with the Michigan Department of Attorney General. She is a recipient of the State Bar of Michigan Champion of Justice Award and is chairperson of the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention & Treatment Board.
Krause earned her law degree from the University of Notre Dame and bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
