New Judges to serve in Wayne, Tuscola and Ingham Counties
LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following judicial appointments:
Terrance Keith of Detroit, most recently chief deputy treasurer for Wayne County, and former principal attorney for the Wayne County Corporation Counsel and assistant corporation counsel for Wayne County, is appointed as Judge of the Wayne County Probate Court for a term expiring January 1, 2013. He replaces Judge David Syzmanski who has resigned. Keith earned his law degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. He also holds a certificate from the Harvard University - Kennedy School and is a graduate of Leadership Detroit.
Amanda Roggenbuck of Unionville, most recently an attorney in private practice and Tuscola County Commissioner, and former adjunct faculty with Davenport University, is appointed as Judge of the Tuscola County Probate Court for a term expiring January 1, 2013. She replaces Judge W. Wallace Kent who is resigning. Roggenbuck is member of the Tuscola County Parks and Recreations Commission and vice chair of the Women of Michigan Association of Counties. She earned her law degree from Thomas Cooley Law School and received her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.
Hugh Clarke, Jr. of Lansing, most recently an attorney in private practice and former member of the Lansing School District Board, is appointed as Judge of the District Court for the 54-A Judicial District until a successor is elected and qualified. He replaces Judge Amy Krause who was recently appointed to the Court of Appeals. Clarke earned his law degree from Thomas Cooley Law School and received his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University.
These appointments are not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
