Snyder appoints members to the Board of Audiology and Podiatric Medicine and Surgery

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today appointed Paul Kileny and Thomas O'Connor to the Michigan Board of Audiology and Shane Drozdowski and Kevan Krietman to the Michigan Board of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.

"I am confident these individuals will apply their knowledge and skills to help provide the best care for the health and wellbeing of Michiganders," Snyder said.

Board of Audiology
The board is responsible for the licensing and oversight of the profession of audiology in the state. 

Kileny, of Ann Arbor, is a professor and academic program director of audiology at the University of Michigan Health System. He earned a bachelor's and master's degrees in communication disorders from Tel-Aviv University in Israel and a doctorate in audiology and electrophysiology from the University of Iowa. Kileny represents audiologists and replaces Gyl Ann Kasewurm.

O'Connor, of Lansing, is CEO of the Williams-O'Connor Partners in Hearing and is a member of the Michigan Audiology Coalition Board. He is the former president of the Michigan Academy of Audiology and previously served as a captain in the U.S. Army. O'Connor earned a bachelor's degree in audiology and speech sciences and a master's degree in audiology, both from Michigan State University. He represents audiologists and replaces Karen Jacobs.

Appointees will serve four-year terms expiring June 30, 2015, and are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

Board of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery
The board licenses and regulates the practice of podiatric medicine and surgery.

Drozdowski, of Lake Orion, is the business development and operations manager at Accu-Tech Inc. in Sterling Heights. He is the founder and fund administrator of Sigma Alpha Epsilon of Oakland Scholarship Fund. Drozdowski earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Oakland University. He represents the general public and replaces Christine Blackledge.

Krietman, of Birmingham, is a physician and partner with Shores Podiatry Associates P.C. in Roseville. Before that, he operated private practices in southeast Michigan for 13 years. Krietman earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Michigan, a doctorate in podiatric medicine from Penn College and completed his residency at the former North Detroit General Hospital. He represents podiatrists and replaces Tara L. Scott.

Appointees will serve four-year terms expiring June 30, 2015, and are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
