The five-member board provides financial and technical assistance through public and private partnerships to create and preserve safe, affordable housing. It also engages community economic development activities, addresses homeless issues and develops vibrant cities, towns and villages. With the exception of the resident member not more than two of the persons appointed can be from the same political party.
“I appreciate these individuals’ willingness to serve on this important board,” Snyder said. “They are extremely qualified and will play an integral part in the continued growth of our communities.”
English is retired as the vice chairman of American Electric Power. He previously served as chief operating officer of American Electric Power, president of AEP Utilities, and chief executive officer of Consumers Energy’s gas division. He was extremely active in the community throughout his career, chairing the New Albany Foundation Board and serving on the board of the United States Energy Association, among many others. He currently serves on the board of the Utility Supply and Construction Co. English holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and an MBA, both from Michigan State University. He will serve as a Republican and replace Anthony Lentych.
Muchmore is vice president of Marketing Resource Group Inc., where she is a specialist in public affairs. She serves on the boards of directors for the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Michigan History Foundation and Wharton Center for Performing Arts. Muchmore holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Michigan State University. She will serve as an Independent and replace Kate Schmid.
Hamilton is the owner of Hamilton Productions, where he serves as a disc jockey for weddings and events as well as provides musical therapy for nursing homes. He previously served as a darkroom technician. Hamilton volunteers at the Detroit Medical Center playing music for patients, something he has done for more than 25 years. He will continue to serve as the resident member.
Members serve four-year terms expiring March 10, 2018, and their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
