LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Aaron Fedewa, of Howell, and the reappointments of Curt McNitt, of Traverse City, and Walt Maner, of Ludington, to the State Plumbing Board.
Created in 2002, the seven-member board oversees the licensure of plumbers and ensures the integrity of Michigan's plumbing industry.
“These skilled and experienced appointees will help the board do good work as it continues to oversee the plumbing profession,” Snyder said.
Fedewa is owner of Fedewa Plumbing in Lansing. He has experience as a foreman and an apprentice plumber, both with Lewis Plumbing, in Grand Ledge. He earned a master plumbers license as well as a plumbing contractor’s license. He will represent licensed plumbing contractors who hold a master's license. He will replace David M. Jones.
McNitt is a job foreman for D & W Mechanical Contractors in Traverse City. He has worked in the plumbing industry since 1996 and earned his master's license in 2008. McNitt previously served as an area coordinator for J.E. Johnson and as a job foreman for Arms & Cole Mechanical Contractors. He is the owner of Trout Farmer. He will continue to represent licensed plumbing contractors who hold a master’s license.
Maner served as executive director of the Michigan Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Association for 19 years, retiring in 2009. He served as executive director of the Michigan Distributors & Vendors Association from 1974 to 1990. Maner also worked for the Lansing State Journal and Chicago Tribune in advertising sales. Maner earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. He will continue to represent the general public.
Members serve three-year terms expiring June 30, 2017. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
