The nine-member commission promotes the sale of beef and beef products in the state.

Schapman has 27 years of farming experience and is the owner of Ingleside Farms. He was named Young Cattleman of the Year in 2010 and Michigan Farm Bureau Outstanding Young Ag Leader in 2011. Schapman earned a bachelor’s degree in beef cattle management from Michigan State University. He will continue to represent cattle feeders.
Acker is the senior regional manager for United Producers Inc., a livestock marketing company. He has been in the livestock marketing field for more than 25 years. Acker is past chairman of the Michigan Beef Expo and is co-chairman of the Michigan Livestock Expo. Acker earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Michigan State University. He will continue to represent cattle marketers.
Wiley has 34 years of farming experience and is the owner of G & Triple J Farms. He serves on the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Executive Committee as the Region 1 Federation Division vice president. He also serves on the Michigan Bovine Tuberculosis Advisory Committee and the Farm Bureau Livestock Committee. He will continue to represent cattle breeders.
Members serve three-year terms expiring May 31, 2017. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
