Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment and reappointment to the Michigan Board of Cosmetology

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Sally Pittsenbarger, of Ferndale, and the reappointment of Kathleen Skipper-Stong, of Ida, to the Michigan Board of Cosmetology.
The nine-member board advises and assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in overseeing the cosmetology profession.
“Sally and Kathleen bring valuable experience to this board and I am confident they will do great work in these roles,” Snyder said.
Appointment:
Pittsenbarger is a stylist at Reid Salon. She is a creative hairstylist with more than 12 years of experience in metro Detroit and Los Angeles salons. Pittsenbarger previously served as a stylist at Rebel Salon in Los Angeles and a project manager for TBWA Chiat/Day Advertising Agency. She is a graduate of Vidal Sassoon Academy. She represents cosmetologists and replaces Helena DeYoung.
Reappointment:
Skipper-Stong is the director of therapy for Tendercare/MagnumCare of Monroe Nursing Center and has more than 15 years of physical therapy assistant experience. She earned an associate of applied business in fashion merchandising from Stautzenberger College and an associate degree in liberal arts and applied sciences as a physical therapy assistant. She continues to represent the general public.
Appointees will serve four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2019. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
