Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Michigan Trails Advisory Council

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of William Manson, of Rockford, Jason Rolling, of Negaunee, and Frank Wheatlake, of Big Rapids, to the Michigan Trails Advisory Council.
The 11-member council advises the Department of Natural Resources on the creation, development, operation, and maintenance of motorized and non-motorized trails in the state, including, but not limited to, snowmobile, biking, equestrian, hiking, off-road vehicle, and skiing trails.
“Michigan’s trails highlight the natural beauty of our state and are a key aspect of our economy,” Snyder said. “I am confident that these appointees will help protect and grow these vital assets.”
Manson has served as the executive director of the Michigan Snowmobile Association since 2002. He will continue to represent snowmobile users.
Rolling is vice president of premier client services for mBank and previously served as a captain in the U.S. Army. He will continue to represent non-motorized users.
Wheatlake is the chairman of Utility Supply & Construction. He previously served on the Natural Resources Commission and the Natural Resources Trust Fund Board. Wheatlake earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University. He will continue to represent snowmobile users.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring Jan. 17, 2020. Their appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
