Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointments to the Electronic Recording Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Lori Wilson, of Stanton, and the reappointments of Donna Krall, of Royal Oak, Christian Meyer of Grand Rapids, and Thomas Richardson, of Ann Arbor, to the Electronic Recording Commission.
Housed within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, the commission establishes standards and practices so that county registers of deeds are consistent with the standards and practices of offices in other jurisdictions.
“I thank these appointees and their willingness to serve on this important commission and look forward to their ongoing contributions,” Snyder said.
Appointment:
Wilson is the elected register of deeds for Montcalm County, where she has served since 1996. She previously served as the chief deputy register of deeds. Wilson will represent county register of deeds and replaces Bambi Somerlott
Reappointments:
Krall is an executive vice president and mortgage operations director for Flagstar Bank. She has more than 25 years of prior banking experience, including time with Citi, JP Morgan Chase, and Washington Mutual. She will continue to represent individuals engaged in the practice of banking.
Meyer is an equity partner at Warner Norcross & Judd LLP. He will continue to represent attorneys licensed to practice law in the state and whose expertise emphasizes real property matters.
Richardson is general council and CEO of Liberty Title Agency, an underwriter title insurance agency with nine offices serving much of southeast Michigan. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. Richardson will continue to represent individuals engaged in the land title profession.
Members will serve two-year terms expiring Jan. 1, 2018. Their appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
