LANSING, Mich. – Lt. Gov. Brian Calley and Julie Calley – who is the chair of the Michigan Community Service Commission -- recognized National Volunteer Week with a video statement. Watch the video above.
Lt. Gov. Brian Calley: Everyday Michigan volunteers are making their communities better by feeding the hungry, mentoring children, restoring the environment, assisting the homeless, and much, much more.
Julie Calley: Volunteer activities vary greatly, from youth holding a food drive, to medical professionals offering their services during a disaster.
Lt. Gov. Brian Calley: National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out ways to engage in their communities and work together to make a difference.
Julie Calley: April 10-16 is National Volunteer Week this year and we encourage you to become a volunteer. Find out how you can make a difference in your community by visiting michigan.gov/volunteer.
