Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointments to the Board of Health and Safety Compliance and Appeals

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Kim Dennison, of Laingsburg and the reappointments of D. Lynn Coleman, of Ashley, and Craig Chunchick, of Shelby Township, to the Board of Health and Safety Compliance and Appeals.
The seven-member board reviews all contested Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) cases, including safety and health citations, orders and appeals.
"These individuals are experienced health and safety professionals," Snyder said. "I am confident they will work to ensure fairness and accountability in the compliance and appeal process."
Appointment:
Dennison is owner and founding member of Absolute Learning Success, an American Safety and Health Institute authorized training center. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and a master’s in public health occupational health nursing from the University of North Carolina. She will represent labor in the health industry and replaces Henry Yanez.
Reappointments:
Coleman is the training director of the Michigan Laborers Training and Apprenticeship Institute. He also serves as an EPA accredited hazardous waste instructor, an instructor for mine safety and health and an OSHA Outreach instructor. He will continue to represent labor in the construction industry.
Chunchick is a property and casualty risk engineer for Chubb Insurance, where he is responsible for providing multi-line loss control services to medical facilities, educational institutions, and more. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial health and safety from Oakland University and a master’s degree in operations management from Lawrence Technological University. He will continue to represent management in the health field.
Dennison will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring March 31, 2017. Coleman and Chunchick will serve four-year terms expiring March 18, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
