Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointment to the Liquor Control Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Ed Clemente to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, this five-member panel is responsible for managing the beer, wine, distilled and mixed spirit drink industries in Michigan. This includes licensing products and establishments as well as enforcing the state's liquor laws.
"Ed has been an effective commissioner," Snyder said. "I am confident he will continue to support business in our state while ensuring responsible regulations to protect Michiganders."
Prior to his term on the Liquor Control Commission, Clemente was president of the Energy Innovation Business Council. He served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2004-2010, and was previously the president of the Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.
Clemente earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies for teaching from Michigan State University, a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Ferris State University, and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Siena Heights University.
Clemente, a Democrat, will serve a four-year term expiring June 12, 2020. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
