Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments to the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Elizabeth Glasser of Gaylord, and Andrew Weirauch of Plymouth to the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member board assists in overseeing the licensure requirements and standards for Michigan's respiratory therapists.
"I thank Elizabeth and Andrew for their service and am confident they will positively impact this board," said Snyder.
Glasser is a cardiopulmonary supervisor at Otsego Memorial Hospital and an adjunct professor at Ferris State University. Glasser holds an associate degree in applied science in respiratory care from Ferris State University, a bachelor’s degree of applied science from Siena Heights University, a master’s degree of health science from Trident University, and is a current doctoral candidate at A.T. Still University. She will represent respiratory therapists and fill a vacancy.
Weirauch is a respiratory therapist clinical specialist at the University of Michigan Hospital. He is a certified basic cardiac life support instructor and an advanced cardiovascular life support provider. He holds a bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from Ohio State University. He will represent respiratory therapists and fill a vacancy.
Wierauch will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2018, and Glasser will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2019. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
