LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Donald Gilmer of Augusta to the Michigan Finance Authority.
Housed in the Department of Treasury, the seven-member authority offers effective, low-cost financing to public and private agencies providing essential services to residents of Michigan. No more than three members may be from the same political party.
“I am confident Donald will have a positive impact on this authority and with the people of Michigan,” Snyder said.
Gilmer retired in 2009 from his position as Calhoun County Interim Administrator. He previously served as the Kalamazoo County Administrator, the State Budget Director for the Michigan Department of Management and Budget, commissioner of the Michigan State Lottery, and a Michigan State Representative. Gilmer attended Western Michigan University where he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service. He will continue to represent Republicans and residents of this state with experience in natural resources and environmental issues or relating to public finance.
Gilmer will serve a four-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2020. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
