Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointments to the Michigan Iron Industry Museum Advisory Board

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Victoria Leonhardt of Marquette as well as the reappointments of Justin Carlson of Negaunee and Susan Hornbogen of Marquette to the Michigan Iron Industry Museum Advisory Board.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the nine-member board advises the department on policies, plans and programs concerning the Negaunee Township-based Michigan Iron Industry Museum. The board supports education programs and public use of the facility.
“I thank these individuals for their commitment to supporting the Iron Industry Museum. I am confident their work will have a positive impact on the Marquette region and the U.P. as a whole," Snyder said .
Appointment:
Leonhardt is an associate with Great Lakes Center for Youth Development and an independent contractor in marketing and social media. She is involved with 40 Below: Marquette County Young Professionals, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marquette and Alger Counties. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northern Michigan University. She will represent the general public and fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dale Hemmila.
Reappointments:
Carlson is owner and president of Carlson Media, LLC. He also is an independent contractor for Stang Decision Systems. Carlson holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University. He will continue to represent the Negaunee Township .
Hornbogen is a contingent instructor in the English Department at Northern Michigan University and office manager at North Country Engineering, Inc. She holds both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, both from Northern Michigan University. She will continue to represent the general public.
Leonhardt will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Oct. 4, 2018. Carlson and Hornbogen will serve four-year terms expiring Oct. 4, 2020.
