Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Michigan Corn Marketing Committee

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Tom Durand of Croswell, Matthew Holysz of Vicksburg, and Ned Wyse of Camden to the Michigan Corn Marketing Committee.
The nine-member committee prepares and oversees the research and marketing program budget, promoting the advancement of Michigan's corn industry.
“I thank these individuals for their continued commitment to promoting Michigan’s corn industry,” Snyder said.
Durand is the president of Durand Farms which grows corn, soybeans, black beans and sugar beets. He received the Outstanding Citizen Award from Michigan Sugar Company and has served as a school board member, little league coach, and in other volunteer capacities for the Michigan Farm Bureau.
Holysz has farmed for 20 years and his farm is a third generation that raises seed corn for Pioneer. Holysz has served on the County Farm Bureau Board and was named Kalamazoo County Farm Bureau Outstanding Young Agricultural Leader. Holysz holds an associate’s degree in applied science and business management from Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
Wyse owns a 740-acre farm that grows corn and soybeans. He serves as a member of the pastoral team at Salem Mennonite Church, is a member of the Hillsdale Arts Chorale, and served on the Board of Education for Camden-Frontier Schools. Wyse holds an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Hesston College and a bachelor’s degree in English from Eastern Mennonite College.
Members serve three-year terms expiring March 5, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
