Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Utility Consumer Participation Board

LANSING, Mich. ? Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Paul Isley of Grand Rapids, James MacInnes of Beulah, Samuel Passmore of Ann Arbor, and Brian Vilmont of Grand Rapids to the Utility Consumer Participation Board.
The board provides grants to qualified applicants representing Michigan's residential energy utility customers before proceedings of the Michigan Public Service Commission. Funding is generated through annual assessment of DTE Energy and Consumers Energy.
"I thank these individuals for their willingness to serve on this board and I am confident their experience will have a positive impact on the people of Michigan," said Snyder.
Isley is an associate dean and professor of economics for the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University. He is a member of the Right Place Economic Development Dashboard Working Group, the K-Connect Economic Development Data Working Group, and does pro-bono economic impact work for the Kent County Museum and Zoo. Isley holds bachelor’s degrees in physics and economics from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree and PhD in economics from Purdue University.
MacInnes is chairman and CEO of Crystal Mountain Resort. He is licensed in Michigan as a professional engineer, real estate broker and residential builder. MacInnes holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical power engineering and a master’s degree in finance and operations research from the University of California, Irvine. He will continue to serve as chairperson at the pleasure of the Governor.
Passmore is the program director of environment for the C.S. Mott Foundation. He also is a member of the public policy committee for the Council of Michigan Foundations, and serves on the board of directors for the Consultative Group on Biological Diversity. Passmore holds a bachelor’s degree in English and environmental studies from Oberlin College in Ohio and a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University.
Vilmont is a senior engineer and project manager for the consulting agency Prein&Newhof. He currently serves as president of the Edelweiss Club of Grand Rapids and previously served as secretary, vice president, and president of his local chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Vilmont holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University.
The appointees will serve two-year terms expiring January 13, 2019.
