Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Michigan Board of Professional Surveyors

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Gilbert Barish of DeWitt, Jeff Bartlett of Standish, and Nickolas Darin of Allen Park to the Michigan Board of Professional Surveyors.
The nine-member board regulates the practice of professional surveyors.
“I thank these individuals for their continued commitment to overseeing the surveying profession,” Snyder said.
Barish is owner and president of Lansing-based Geodetic Designs, Inc. He previously served as owner and vice president of DC Engineering and as government survey group leader for Tetra Tech MPS. Barish holds a bachelor's degree in surveying engineering from Ferris State University. He will continue to represent surveyors.
Bartlett is principal of Surveying Solutions, Inc. and previously worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation. He is a member of the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors, the American Council of Engineering Companies, and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. Bartlett holds a bachelor's degree in surveying engineering from Ferris State University. He will continue to represent professional surveyors.
Darin is the owner of Darin Law PLLC, where he specializes in family, criminal, business, and real estate law, and serves as a court appointed attorney for the Macomb and Wayne county felony courts. Darin holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Kalamazoo College, and a law degree from the University of Toledo. He will continue to represent the general public.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring March 31, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
