Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Michigan Travel Commission

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Camille Jourden-Mark of Muskegon, Stephen Kircher of Walloon Lake, Christian Overland of Ypsilanti, and William (Bill) Parlberg of Frankenmuth to the Michigan Travel Commission.
The commission collaborates with destination marketing associations, nonprofit corporations, and organizations to develop, promote, and enhance Michigan’s travel and tourism industry. It also provides the Michigan Economic Development Corporation with input and advice regarding activities related to tourism in the state.
“I thank these individuals for their continued commitment and service to this commission. I know they will use their collective experience to continue marketing Michigan as the ideal travel destination," Snyder said.
Jourden-Mark is vice president and general manager of Michigan’s Adventure. She has more than 30 years of experience in tourism marketing and promotions in Michigan. She previously served on the board of directors of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and is a former president of the West Michigan Tourist Association. Jourden-Mark holds bachelor’s degrees in advertising and public relations from Ferris State University and a master of business administration from Grand Valley State University.
Kircher is president and CEO of Boyne Resorts with more than 30 years of resort and tourism experience. He oversees resort and development operations for divisions in Michigan, Montana, Maine, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Washington, and British Columbia. Kircher holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Michigan State University and a master of business administration from Boston College.
Overland is the executive vice president of The Henry Ford. He is responsible for developing and implementing all programs for Greenfield Village, Henry Ford Museum, Ford Rouge Factory Tour, IMAX, and Benson Ford Research Center. Overland holds a bachelor’s degree in American studies and art history from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in American history and museum studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program at the State University of New York.
Parlberg is president and COO of Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth. He oversees the operations of the company’s restaurant, Splash Village Hotel & Waterpark, Fortress Golf Course, and Zehnder’s Retail Division. Parlberg holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and finance and an executive master of business administration from Northwood University.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring August 20, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
