LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Mark Reene of Vassar to the Advisory Board for the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center (MIOC) for Homeland Security.
The 11-member advisory board makes recommendations regarding the MIOC’s privacy policy and management policies and procedures. The MIOC collects, evaluates, organizes and analyzes information and intelligence, passing it along to the proper public safety agencies to identify and address safety and security threats to the state.
"I thank Mark for his commitment to keeping Michigan safe and secure. I am confident his background will be a positive asset to this board," Snyder said.
Reene was elected Tuscola County Prosecutor in 2001, and has been elected to office for five consecutive terms. He previously served as the chief assistant prosecuting attorney. He is a member and current president of the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, the Tuscola County Bar Association, and the Richville Conservation Club. Reene holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan Flint and a law degree from George Washington University National Law Center. He will represent county prosecuting attorneys and replace Stuart Dunnings.
Reene will serve a four-year term expiring April 11, 2021.
