Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointment to the Michigan Citizen-Community Emergency Response Coordinating Council

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Sara Stoddard of Clarkston as well as the reappointment of Kerry Minshall of Mason to the Michigan Citizen-Community Emergency Response Coordinating Council.
The council supports and enhances Michigan's hazard mitigation projects, hazardous material planning and regulation, community health, and overall public safety.
“I thank Sara and Kerry for their commitment to supporting Michigan communities through this council,” Snyder said.
Appointment:
Stoddard is the chief of administrative services for the Oakland County Health Division. She previously worked in the division as a PACE program coordinator and a health educator, and also served as the chief of emergency management for the Oakland County Homeland Security Division. Stoddard holds a bachelor’s degree in health administration and a master’s degree in general administration, both from Central Michigan University. She will represent individuals with technical expertise related to emergency response and replace Gail Ann Novak-Phelps.
Reappointment:
Minshall has served as Mason Fire Department fire chief for ten years. Previously, he worked as a journeyman pipefitter with General Motors. Minshall has several training certifications and holds an associate’s degree in emergency services from John Wood Community College. He will continue to represent individuals with technical expertise related to emergency response.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2021.
