Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment, reappointments to the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Syed Rob of Hamtramck, and the reappointments of Sarah McAllister of Saline and Adam Swain of Plainwell to the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy.
The 11-member board advises and assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with overseeing the practice of physical therapists.
“I thank these individuals for serving on this board,” Snyder said.
Appointment:
Rob is the agency manager for Rob’s Agency, Inc., for Farm Bureau Insurance, and serves as the director of the Alumni Board for Lawrence Technological University. He holds a bachelor’s of business administration from William Tyndale College and a master’s of business administration from Lawrence Technological University. He will represent the general public and replace John Poronto.
Reappointments:
McAllister is a physical therapist at the University of Michigan’s CS Mott Children’s Hospital where her primary patient population consists of TBI, SCI, CVA, developmental impairments, and high-risk obstetrics. McAllister holds a bachelor’s degree in health science and a master’s degree in physical therapy, both from University of Missouri Columbia. She will continue to represent physical therapists.
Swain is a senior physical therapist with Agility Physical Therapy & Sports Performance. He previously served at K Valley Orthopedics, Southwestern Michigan Sports Medical Clinic, Kalamazoo Foot Surgery, and Physical Therapy Services. Swain holds a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Northeastern University. He will continue to represent physical therapists
Members will serve four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
