Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Michigan Strategic Fund

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Terrence J.L. Reeves of Ann Arbor to the Michigan Strategic Fund.
The 11-member board has authority over economic development and job creation in the state through the Michigan Business Development Program, Michigan Community Revitalization Program, Travel Michigan, private activity bonds, Community Development Block Grant awards, and as fiduciary agent for the 21st Century Jobs Fund.
“Terrence’s experience gives me confidence in his ability to aid in the creation of jobs and enhancement of Michigan’s growing economy,” Snyder said.
Reeves is a member of Taft’s nationally recognized Venture Capital Group and a managing attorney in the firm’s Ann Arbor office. He represents a wide variety of clients, ranging from tech startups getting their first round of funding to Fortune 500 companies. Reeves holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business, and a law degree from Wayne State University. He will fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Jody Vanderwel.
Reeves will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Feb. 28, 2019. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
