LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Carl English of Bingham Farms, Tyrone Hamilton of Belleville, Deborah Muchmore of Laingsburg to the Michigan State Housing Development Authority Board.
The eight-member board supports MSHDA’s mission of partnering to provide homes and preserve places for the people of Michigan. Of the four members appointed by the governor to represent the public, no more than two may be members of the same political party.
"I thank these individuals for their commitment to making Michigan communities better," Snyder said.
English retired as the vice chairman of American Electric Power. Before his retirement, he served as the chief operating officer of American Electric Power, president of AEP Utilities and chief executive officer of Consumers Energy’s gas division. He was extremely active in the community throughout his career, chairing the New Albany Foundation Board and serving on the board of the United States Energy Association, among many others. He currently serves on the board of the Utility Supply and Construction Company. English holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree, both from Michigan State University. He will continue to represent Republicans.
Hamilton is the owner of Hamilton Productions where he serves as a disc jockey for weddings and events, as well as provides musical therapy for nursing homes. Hamilton volunteers at the Detroit Medical Center, playing music for patients, something he has done for more than 25 years. He receives assistance from the Housing Choice Voucher Program and provides valuable input on program policy and procedures. He will continue to serve as the resident member.
Muchmore is a partner at Kandler Reed Khoury & Muchmore, LLC., a multi-client, bi-partisan government relations and public affairs firm in Lansing. She serves on the boards of directors for the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Michigan History Foundation and Wharton Center for Performing Arts. Muchmore holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Michigan State University. She will continue to represent Independents.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring March 10, 2022. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
