Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Richard Bryce of Royal Oak, David Oh of West Bloomfield, and Matthew Swan of Eaton Rapids to the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists.
The nine-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in overseeing the licensure and practice of Michigan's occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants.
“I thank these individuals for overseeing those in the occupational therapy field,” Snyder said.
Bryce is the chief medical officer and a family medicine physician for Community Health and Social Services in Detroit. He also serves as clinical faculty for Henry Ford Health System, the medical director for Street Medicine Detroit at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and a faculty advisor for Detroit Street Care at Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine. He holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University. He will represent the general public as a physician and replaces Michael Moutsatson.
Oh is the president of Itekcenter, a business and engineering consulting firm in West Bloomfield. He previously served as a senior engineer, project manager and CPMT leader for Ford Motor Company Automatic Transmission Engineering Operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Hanyang University, master’s degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration from the University of Detroit, and a master’s degree in manufacturing and systems engineering from the University of Michigan. He will represent the general public and replaces Nicholas Carlson.
Swan is a staff occupational therapist for Agility Health. He holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Wayne State University. He will represent professionals and replaces Deborah Windell.
Bryce will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2019. Oh and Swan will serve four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2021. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
