LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Beth Gruden of Perrinton and Carol Rose of Hillman to the Michigan Wildlife Council.
Established in 2013, the Michigan Wildlife Council was created to educate the public about the beneficial aspects of hunting and fishing and the essential role that sportsmen and sportswomen play in wildlife conservation. The nine-member council includes the director of the Department of Natural Resources or his designee and eight additional members appointed by the governor.
“The education this council provides is vital to preserving Michigan’s wildlife, and I thank Beth and Carol for their continued dedication to this council,” Snyder said.
Gruden is the owner of Blue Wing Consulting where she works with producers to comply with permits and develop comprehensive nutrient management plans. She holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Michigan State University and will continue to represent agriculture producers in this state.
Rose is vice president and co-owner of Jeffress-Dyers Inc. – Real Estate Appraisal and Consulting, specializing in commercial land and large forestry and recreational use lands in Northern Michigan. She is knowledgeable on the significance of the contributions that hunters, anglers and trappers have historically made to the conservation of both game and non-game species, as well as the economic impact these activities have on communities throughout the state. Rose holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Michigan State University. She will continue to represent individuals with a media or marketing background who is not an employee of the department.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring March 31, 2022. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
