LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of James Dempsey of Dexter and the reappointment of James (J.J.) Tighe of Birmingham to the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund Board of Directors.
The seven-member board oversees trust fund expenditures and awards grants to eligible combat-era veterans and their families to relieve temporary financial emergencies or hardships.

Tighe is the director of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation and previously served as the president and CEO of the Michigan Fitness Foundation. Tighe served eight years in the Aviation Branch of the U.S. Army and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
