Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointments to the Port Authority Advisory Committee

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Robert Innis of Canton and Mark Pontti of Iron Mountain to the Port Authority Advisory Committee.
Housed within the Michigan Department of Treasury, the nine-member board was established to make recommendations to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors regarding projects related to port facilities.
"I thank Robert and Mark for dedicating their time to this committee," Snyder said. “Their insight and experiences will help them make recommendations that will positively impact Michigan.”
Innis is the transportation operations director of LafrageHolcim, previously serving in the roles of logistics and supply chain director and manager of transportation operations for Holcim (US) Inc. He serves as vice chairman of the Waterways Council, a member of the Waterways Council Inc. Executive Committee, Waterways Council Inc. Board of Directors and as a member of the Inland Waterways User Board. Innis holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. He is the nominee of the Speaker of the House and fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Paul Rogers.
Pontti is the director of the Governor’s Northern Michigan Office and previously served as the public affairs manager for Verso Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University and a master’s degree from Georgia State University. Pontti will represent the Upper Peninsula of the state and fill the vacancy created by the resignation of William Vajda.
Members serve terms expiring at the pleasure of the Governor.
