LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Karen Hahn of Big Rapids and Jack Owens of Roscommon to the State Survey and Remonumentation Commission.
The seven-member commission consults with the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to create and distribute a model county plan that may be adopted by a county with any changes appropriate for that county.
"These individuals have a great deal of experience working for local counties," Snyder said. “I am confident they will be valuable additions to this commission.”
Hahn has served as the Mecosta County register of deeds for 16 years and attended Central Michigan University. She will continue to represent grant administrators.
Owens is a survey consultant with more than 50 years of experience in land surveying. He is retired from Rowe Professional Services and previously served as chief surveyor of Flint and on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors. Owens holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology from the University of Michigan and will continue to represent surveyors at large.
Members will serve four-year terms expiring Oct. 20, 2022. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
