Gov. Rick Snyder makes reappointments to the Great Lakes Protection Fund

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the reappointments of Patti Glaza of Royal Oak and Mark Meijer of Grand Rapids to the Great Lakes Protection Fund Board of Directors.

The Great Lakes Protection Fund is a nonprofit corporation that supports collaborative actions to improve the health of the Great Lakes ecosystem. The fund's board of directors meets quarterly and governs fund operations.

“Michigan’s Great Lakes are one of the world’s most beautiful and important natural resources; I thank Patti and Mark for their continued commitment to preserving this important resource,” Snyder said.

Glaza is managing director of Invest Detroit, a community development financial institution supporting economic and community development primarily in Detroit. Glaza holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and economics from Michigan State University and a master’s degree of business administration from the University of Michigan.

Meijer is president of Life E.M.S. Ambulance. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Management Committee for Meijer, Inc., and is a former member of the Public Safety Communications Interoperability Board. Meijer holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Aquinas College.

Members serve two-year terms expiring Oct. 11, 2020.
