Detroit Casino Revenues & Wagering Taxes for February


Revenue for MGM was up by 27.88% in February 2008, while MotorCity and Greektown Casinos were down by 2.25% and 6.89%, respectively, in February 2008, compared to the same month last year.

Today at the Michigan Gaming Control Board monthly board meeting the Executive Director Rick Kalm advised the Board members that the aggregate revenue and taxes for all 3 Detroit casinos for the month of February 2008 were up by 7.02% compared to the same month last year.  The month of February 2008 had 29 days compared to 28 days for 2007.

For the month of February 2008, gaming taxes for the 3 Detroit casinos were $11.713 Million compared to $12.702 Million for the same period last year.  The decrease in state tax revenue is due to the tax roll-back for MGM Grand Detroit Casino.
