Detroit Casino Revenues & Wagering Taxes for April

Today at the Michigan Gaming Control Board monthly board meeting the Executive Director Rick Kalm advised the Board members that the aggregate revenue and taxes for all 3 Detroit casinos for the month of April 2008 were up by 5.15% compared to the same month last year. Revenue for MGM Grand and MotorCity Casinos were up by 14.19% and 3.45%, respectively, while Greektown Casino was down by 4.95% in April 2008, compared to the same month last year. For the month of April 2008, gaming taxes for the 3 Detroit casinos were $10.55 Million compared to $13.36 Million for the same period last year. The decrease in State of Michigan's gaming tax revenue is due to the tax roll back for MGM Grand Detroit Casino and MotorCity Casino.
