Join the Outdoor Adventure Center and Belle Isle Nature Center staff to learn all about the American woodcock. Sometimes called the "timberdoodle," this unique bird performs a "skydance" on early spring nights just after sunset in preparation for the spring breeding season. We'll take a walk near the Nature Center to listen for and observe this fascinating sign of spring. This program is recommended for ages 8 or older.
Note that this is an offsite program taking place at the Belle Isle Nature Center, located at 176 Lakeside Drive on Belle Isle Park.
Participants should dress for outdoor activities on uneven, natural trails.
